The Sky Office Competition is an international competition of ideas for architects, engineers and designers organised by Upper in 2005.
The aim of this online competition is to create systems and innovative spatial technological and organisation elements for offices.

More than 200 architect firms from countries all over the world participated in the competition. The winners received a cash prize and the opportunity to produce prototypes of interesting project ideas to verify their industrial production potential.

This stimulating event launched by Upper in the field of design and research has created a veritable stir in the world of architecture in Italy and abroad.

Upper is currently developing an innovative painting process for its tops called Soft Touch.
The Soft Touch painting process is not a new one in that some automobile manufacturers have already used this type of painting process for car dashboards while Vespa uses Soft Touch for its Momo helmets.

Upper however is the first company in the office furnishings industry to use the process for its products! Soft Touch is a specific painting process which gives the top a soft texture to the touch.
